Top 4 Reasons Why Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood Is Better Than The Original
4. The Animation
The animation throughout the series is absolutely beautiful. It feels like a breath of fresh air compared to the original series. A lot of anime usually up the animation during fight scenes, however, it's like this throughout the entire series which separates itself from not only the original series but also other anime.
3. The Opening Themes
Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood opening theme songs slap. Hologram (the 2nd opening theme) is probably one of my favorite anime openings. There isn't a single bad opening for this series and they just get better throughout the series.
2. The Pacing
Compared to the original Fullmetal Alchemist, Brotherhood doesn't have a single stopping points. There aren’t any filler episodes compared to the original and it doesn't slow down whatsoever. Everything moves relatively fast seeing how they didn't want to retread a lot of the same beats as the original.
1. It's Closer To The Manga
The original Fullmetal Alchemist was ahead of the original manga so they had to create their own ending until the manga was finished. When the manga was finally finished they decided to create Brotherhood to complete the full story created from the manga. I’m not the biggest fan of the original ending of the series. It felt incomplete and it wasn't want I wanted compared to the manga. If you're looking to get into Fullmetal Alchemist, you can just hop into Brotherhood because it's a lot closer to the source material.
