Superman Teaser Trailer Breakdown
My absolute favorite superhero is finally getting the respect that he deserves! David Corenswet will be portraying the new interpretation of Clark Kent/Superman in James Gunn version of the beloved boyscout. A lot of people were complaining about his curly hair as Clark Kent but I love how they went with something different to separate Clark from Superman. Also, another complaint was regarding his suit. While I'm not a big fan of the New 52 lines on the suit, it is very beautiful and vibrant.
“Krypto. Home, take me home". I'm so happy that everyone else I saw react to this teaser was also excited to see Superman's beloved dog Krypto. Krypto is a huge part of Superman's life: rather he adopted him later on in life or he was sent to Earth with him as a baby. James Gunn has spoke about Krypto and said that his relationship with Superman will be explored in the film so I'm excited to see how their relationship is formed and blossomed into a beautiful partnership.
Can we also talk about the score, cinematography and production design for this film? The cinematography is beautiful and really makes the city of Metropolis feel like a character just from the small bits we saw from the teaser. Even the Daily Planet feels like it was ripped straight out of one of the comic books. As far as the score I get nostalgic feelings from the Christopher Reeves films and the guitar rift brings a new element to the score which I really loved. The Score feels very inspiring and joyful.
This photo from up above pretty much illustrates the humanity of Superman. He is kind hearted person who knows that he can't save everyone but he will damn sure try. So seeing him put himself in harms way for a little girl instead of using his super speed to get her out of the way just reminds me how great Superman is.
I’m not too sure about Nicholas Hoult was Lex Luthor. He's a great actor and I don’t like to judge a film before I see it so I'm reserving my judgment until the film comes out. I honestly have no idea if he's going to be the main antagonist, however, I do know that Superman and him will be at odds.
As a die-hard Superman fan I'm so excited that we're getting a proper Superman film since the Christopher Reeves films. This honestly feels like a passion project for James Gunn and I'm here for it. Superman's strength doesn't rely in how hard he punches but how many times he can stand back up and keep his head up when times are hard. While some fans are worried about the film being too “bloated” with characters like Hawkgirl, Guy Garner and Mr. Terrific, James Gunn assured fans that this will focus on Superman. Those are my thoughts but what did you guys/gals think of the new trailer and are you going to see this film?
