Companion Review

Companion is a Sci-fi/Thriller/Romcom starring Sophia Thatcher and Jack Quaid. This is one of those films where you should avoid the trailer because while it doesn't give EVERYTHING away I think it's better to go in without any context. If you are going to watch the trailer then I suggest the teaser because it gives little content clues.

I am new when it comes to the Sophia Thatcher and Jack Quaid hype train. The only only projects I have seen these two in are Scream V and Heretic (both horror films) which they did excellent in. I'll try my best to avoid any spoilers but the best way I can describe this film without giving anything away is, “a meet cute gone wrong.” I would really like to see these two play significant others in another film because their chemistry is pretty great.

Not only was the twist and turns something I wasn't expecting but I also wasn't expecting it to be so violent. This film took misogyny and greed to a whole other level. The pacing, score, soundtrack, VFX, cinematography, twist and the performances are all great. The 2nd trailer and even the poster pretty much gives away the whole film which I'm not a fan of so it's best to go in blind. I’m sorry for that I couldn’t be a little more specific regarding details of this film and what transpires, however, I don’t think that's a good idea because we would get into major spoiler territories.
