The Penguin Episode 2: "Inside Man" Review
This episode kicks off with Sofia Falcone in therapy having a nightmare about witnessing Alberto Falcone's (her brother) death in Arkham. The last episode barely scratched the surface of Sofia Falcone because we get a lot more from her in this episode. After the Falcone's transport is hijacked by the Maronis, Sofia is determined to find the inside man (The Penguin) and take them out. Sofia is more concerned about being disrespected, lied to and betrayed than losing money.
I really feel for Sofia in this episode. She has a lot of stuff on her plate from: her mental health, her public reputation and working with a man who killed her brother. The Penguin is doing everything he can to keep Sofia off his tail and stay on her good side, at least for now that is. Eventually when Sofia finds out what Penguin has been up to there will be hell to pay. If people are afraid of rumors about her just imagine what she's capable of doing when she wants people to fear her.
This was a great character episode for Sofia. Honestly, I'd love to see more of how Arkham took a tole on her mentally because we only saw a glimpse of it in this episode. Other than that, what were your guys thoughts on this episode? What are your predictions for the rest of the season? Until then, continue to watch The Penguin on HBO Max.
